Last month HBO dropped the trailer for a new drama series, “The Idol” that includes none other than Canadian Icon The Weeknd, born Abel Tesfaye. Abel made his first acting debut in the 2019 hit “Uncut Gems,” with fans encouraging this switch in him as he clearly can succeed in both music and acting.

The short teaser that HBO released got fans excited as he appears alongside Lily-Rose Depp, known famously for being the daughter of Johnny Depp. Not only does the series seem to feature two undeniably talented leads but includes the inner workings and creative mind of Sam Levinson- the genius behind HBO’s highly successful “Euphoria”.

Levinson is known for his role as creator and executive producer on “Euphoria” as he created monumental scenes, characters, and storylines within the series three seasons- leading to the series earning an MTV award for best show in 2022.

Due to the insane popularity that followed “Euphoria”, it would be no surprise if “The Idol” got the same attention- as music fans are yearning to see the singer in his newest acting role. The series is set to drop sometime this year- with fans of Abel, Depp, and Levinson excited as the trailer gives us an insight into the madness, we can expect with a teaser like this.
