Yung Tory has kept very busy during his quarantine. In addition to hosting a notorious IG Live show of his own, last week the Toronto-based artist released the music video to “Double D’s”. Yesterday, he dropped the Pressa-assisted single “Timeout”. Even though a lot of dope music dropped this past week, Tory manages hold his own as he and Pressa trade verses over an incredibly unique beat. Kevin Rolly, a known Toronto producer, samples a sweet little flute line that makes this track stick. Toronto has been lucky to get a lot of dope music over the course of this year so far, and the all-Toronto line up of “Timeout” is a strong addition to the bunch.
At just 24 years old Tory has already built relationships with Lil Durk and Timbaland, both of whom he has secured record deals with over the course of his young career. In 2019, his album cut “Rastar” gained traction as it was rumoured to be sampled by Jorja Smith and Burna Boy in their “Be Honest” collaboration, which dropped the same year. Yung Tory’s ability to release quality music at a rapid pace is unmatched right now in Toronto. He has already dropped over 10 singles since the beginning o the year, and it doesn’t look like he plans to slow down.
As of right now, “Timeout” has only been released in audio form, but based on what Yung Tory has shared on Instagram, he’s prepared to drop visuals too. Check out the song and let him know if you want a video, cause we know we do.
