Sammy Keys is an independent artist out of Ottawa who has steadily been growing his fan base with consistent releases.
His first release of 2021 is “Don’t Pretend” a moody and cinematic banger produced by Kasino. Sammy Keys nonchalantly floats over the beat, and not only finds himself singing a melodic hook, but also shares insight on his upbringing and go-getter mentality through his verses.
Sammy Keys raps about the struggles he felt coming up, before putting the work in to get himself and his brothers out of the streets. Now that he’s here, he tells people “Don’t Pretend”, because he only wants the realest around him.
The King Memeh-directed video was filmed by Visuvo Productions/ Eniola and showcased a series of events in the life of Sammy Key’s character as he explored the streets and underground scene of Toronto.
