When we said platinum-certified “Bali” producer, VillaBeatz was gonna have a big year, we didn’t know exactly what to expect. Now, within the first month of the year, VillaBeatz is showing us. After collaborating with some of the biggest artists in the world, including 88GLAM, Nav, 2 Chainz, The Weeknd, MIA, K. Forest, Killy, Roy Woods, and many many more, VillaBeatz has made it a mission to uplift the next generation of artist.
YKS NK was born in 2001 and is the youngest of 4 children. His love for music came at an early age when he was just getting comfortable with school. NK’s music is centred around his past and present, but he also writes about what the future will hold.
VillaBeatz’s multi-platinum talent shines through on the Chris Grey co-produced record as soon as the beat (and sample) begin, but the newcomer, NK, has no problem finding a melodic pocket to fit in, as he nonchalantly opens up about the life he leads.
NK has a special energy, and it can’t be felt in his delivery- we imagine this is why VillaBeatz was so ready to support him. With their first record sounding this good, we can only imagine they’ll be working together again soon.
In addition to working to create the sonics of the record, NK and VillaBeatz both have director credits on the accompanying music video, which shares a similar energy to the song. The video cuts between solo shots of NK as well as scenes with his team. He and his friends are depicted in apartment hallways, before sharing some time around money, and flashy new cars. Both VillaBeatz and NK encapsulated a success story that feels very close to home, and we can’t wait to hear where they take it next.
Stream “Re Rock” below, or check out the music video above and keep an eye out for Villa and NK, because they’ve both got more coming soon.
