Canada’s favourite rapper, Drake, has returned. This time, with a new mixtape and a new album in the making. His new project titled, ‘Dark Lane Demo Tapes’, is comprised of 14 songs featuring guest appearances from Giveon, Chris Brown, Future, Young Thug, Playboi Carti, Fivio Foreign and Sosa Geek, with Pain 1993 being the most anticipated collaboration. The tape released at midnight on Thursday and it includes previously released tracks such as ‘Chicago Freestyle’, ‘Toosie Slide’, ‘Desires’ and ‘War’, along with some leaked tracks, SoundCloud songs and some overall “new vibes” as the artist says. Fans say the title fits the demo, as the tape follows a darker, mellow tone while emphasizing his rhythmic flow.
In addition to this new mixtape, Drake also announced that his next album with be arriving this summer. This is what fans were most excited to hear. This will be his first studio album since releasing Scorpion in 2018, which featured hits such as ‘In My Feelings’, ‘Nice for What’ and ‘God’s Plan’. Drake’s latest hit ‘Toosie Slide’ went viral on TikTok as the new dance caught the attention of its users and helped him gain another No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart. Given his unceasing success, there is no doubt that Drake’s studio album will be the highlight of the summer.
