For the fourth week in a row, Toronto singer/songwriter, Kofi, has released a hit with an accompanying music video. This series of releases comes after a busy summer for Kofi, which included dropping the 6 track EP, Story of My Life, back in August.

In his latest release, “Slow It Down”, Kofi switches up the energy and delivers what can only be described as a modern love song. The clean piano-based production is taken care of by the German-native Tunda Beats, however the mixing, mastering, writing and performance is taken care of by the multi-talented Kofi – who also provided the song’s artwork.

On the incredibly catchy hook, Kofi sings,

Baby, take your time,

Slow it down,

Let me lift you up

So, you can hold me down

Prior to release, Kofi tells us that, “the song talks about having a shorty hold you down, and add to what you’re already doing”. He continues that “it’s a different vibe” from his previous releases, because it lets him open up about the type of woman he wants in his life.

If the lyrics to “Slow It Down” can be considered a manifestation of the love Kofi hopes to receive, the video can be considered the same. Featuring a special appearance from Toronto’s own, Carly Sarah, the music to “Slow It Down” follows the two as they cuddle, vibe in the studio, and more. In true Toronto fashion, the two spend a majority of their time together in the video wearing matching Tech Fleece.

In the past two years, Kofi’s singles “Came Up” and “Wake Up”, have amassed over 2 million plays on Spotify. During this same time, Kofi has had his record, “Hold Me Down”, featured in NBA 2K20.

Having already worked with the likes of Pressa, Booggz, and Jimmy Prime, it only makes sense that Kofi is slated for continued success.
