Before finishing Highschool, LB Spiffy received co-signs from the likes of Drake and Kylie Jenner. LB has quietly become one of the most respected artists in Toronto, finding his sound early, and growing the fanbase to prove it. LB has been showing out in 2020, with consistent releases all year, the most impressive of which, came this past weekend.
The “Kawasaki” video has passed the “Worldstar Test”, racking up over 30,000 views in the 3 days that it has been live on their YouTube page. As impressive as the production is, it’s really LB’s flow and, swag that bring this track to the next level. LB’s flow is completely unexpected, but it sounds perfect. And as great as it sounds, it’s also ridiculously creative and impressive, which is why “Kawasaki” be might our favourite LB song to date. Director Zac Facts (who has worked with Nav, Travis Scott, and Jessie Reyez) must have felt the same way we did, because he made sure the music video shoot was high energy and fun. An ode to the early-2000’s, the “Kawasaki” music video captures LB enjoying himself in front of a make-shift freeway backdrop. LB claims the shoot was lit, and expects fans to have as much fun watching it as he did making it.
Doubling up on the W’s the night of the “Kawasaki” drop, LB also released the fully animated video to his 2KBABY collab “Go Pro”. 2KBABY, the 20 year-old out of Louisville, Kentucky, has quickly gained popularity amongst fans as well as respected artists. His 2020 debut Pregame Rituals features G Herbo, YFN Lucci, and Lil Durk, still his LB Spiffy collab might be his best work.
“Go Pro” is a relatively laid-back track, even with incredible kicks that immerse you into the world that animator, Tilla Vision, created. LB and 2K’s “Go Pro” is perfect for late-night drives, and the ideal come down from “Kawasaki”.
Be sure to show love to LB Spiffy and 2K! And be on the lookout for a new project from LB very soon.
