On October 28th, Toronto R&B singer/songwriter Savannah Ré drops a new single off her upcoming album Opia; “Solid”. Savannah Ré utilizes her refined talent to deconstruct the human experience and illustrate it into sanguine 90s sophisticated pop; delivered via golden melodies with heavy, circular beats and bold yet luminous vocals. The developed artist is changing the R&B scene with her ethereal flow and genuine self-reflection. However, don’t be deceived by Savannah Ré’s vulnerability; she is the face of reclamation and resilience. “I need you to be solid. Promise that you won’t bend or break, promise to me that you’ll stay”. Creation YogiTheProducer -who has previously worked with Kehlani and Jessie Reyez- collaboratively produced “Solid” with Akeel Henry, an OVO alumni who worked with esteemed artists Ty Dolla $ign and Shawn Mendes. “Normally, YogiTheProducer and I cook up in the basement with no expectations and see what happens, but for this session, I knew I wanted to make something heartfelt. We started with the loop you hear throughout the song played by our friend Kevinshideout, and I just started free-styling – which I pretty much do to write everything. My writing process is pretty free-flowing in that sense; inspiration can come from anywhere.

This message started coming out within that process, just about loyalty and asking the right questions within love. It was a sincerity message, which is why the chorus comes across as a plea rather than a demand; to stay down with each other through whatever may come, through thick and thin. We took our time with this song over the year to create it.” Tells Ré. Alicia K. Harris -a Canadian Screen Award winner and fellow Scarborough native- directed the “Solid” music video. Filmed in their home city, the visual expresses a personal dystopia through a chilly, monotoned world, exploring the ambiguous space that comes at the end of a relationship. In this emotional purgatory, that inside can do nothing but reflect and revive, or move on. -Solid- relationships can overcome. https://youtu.be/O_J-0C-w134 Plentiful past, flourishing future Justifiably so, the artist signed to the country’s leading music company -Universal Music Canada- alongside mentorship from Grammy Award-winning producer Boi-1da, collaborating with artists like

Babyface, Normani, Daniel Caesar, Wondagurl, and opening for artists like TLC and Jessie Reyez on her “Being Human On Tour”. “Homies” and “Where You Are” – have earned 1.7M global streams and critical support from esteemed outlets such as HYPEBAE, Complex, and CBC Music. With “Solid” now offering the third glimpse into her late 2020 work, anticipation continues to build with ELLE Canada, including “Opia” on their Pop Culture Radar list and NOW Toronto naming it one of the 20 new albums to listen to this Fall. Watch for the hottest drop of Fall 2020 with “Opia”.
