Prime Boy’s Donnie has been consistently releasing music over the last few years whether it has been solo or with the team, he is improving with every release. He has collaborated with some of the hottest Hip-Hop names in the city and gained a respectable music reputation on behalf of his collective. After the Prime Boys released Koba World last year, Donnie has progressively been working on his music getting ready to showcase what he’s capable of doing on his own. On November 22nd, Donnie released his long-waited solo debut project “From the Beginning to End”.
From the Beginning to End is 11-track album that rounds up to 32 minutes total. Donnie lyrically paints a picture as he raps about life in the streets, but preaches the lessons he’s learned from that got him to where he is at. He showcases his versatility with a club banger such as “Priceless” to “No Money No Funny” which has more of a chill R&B feel to it. Throughout the album every song has a different feel to it as you keep playing one after another.
The album features include the Jay Whiss, Jimmy Prime, Daniel Caesar, Murda Beatz, and the late Toronto-Legend Smoke Dawg. From just taking a glance of the features, it’s not hard to tell this album was going to be interesting.
From the Beginning to End was an overall impressive album from the young Toronto talent. Donnie definitely surpassed the expectations with this one and we are excited for what he and the rest of the Prime Boys have in store for 2020. From the Beginning to End is going to sit nicely with you until the next episode. As always, Prime Forever.
