Shay Lia is a French-Djboutian, R&B singer based in Montreal. Most Known for her collaborations with Kaytranada, Shay Lia has evolved to become one of the most promising talents to surface out of Montreal. With a unique style, soothing voice and contagious energy, it is no wonder why her latest EP “Dangerous” was nominated for a Polaris Music Prize.
Dangerous was released earlier this year and it was an impressive debut body of work for the rising talent. The 7-tracklist EP was nothing short of remarkable as it can stir up different vibes with each play of a song. It featured some intriguing collaborations with Buddy, Kojey Radical, BADBADNOTGOOD and long time friend KAYTRANADA.
Shay Lia released the Deluxe version of “Dangerous” today with four additional songs that will satisfy you for the remaining of the year. There are two new features that include Dâm-Funk who produces a west-coast style remix of “VooDoo” and the multi-talented Shaun Ross who adds his own melodies on “Blue”. The other two tracks “Find a Way” & “So Brand New” are uplifting and funky songs that you might catch playing at a lounge somewhere downtown. Nonetheless, Shay Lia continues to evolve her musical artistry and is capturing the attention of many. This is one upcoming talent you want to keep on your radar.
