Top tier producers Boi-1da and Hit-Boy took it upon themselves to entertain the rap world whilst fans are stuck at home during this quarantine. On Thursday night the two producers shocked their fans via Instagram as they revealed “The Beat Battle You Don’t Want To Miss” between the two was taking place the following night. Sticking to their promise the two multi-platinum artists linked up on Instagram Live Friday night. They were bringing nothing but heat digging deep into their discographies, and even unleashing new music upon each other giving viewers snippets of whats to come in the near future. The new leaks included songs from Tee Grizzley and Nas, but the standout tracks from the night was a new Drake and Roddy Ricch collab produced by 1da himself. In response, Hit-Boy played a Big Sean song off ‘Detroit 2’ with a feature from the late Nipsey Hustle.

The intense battle lasted over two hours with each producer putting their biggest classics and collaborations against each other leaving little to no room for one to breath. Many tuned in for rare occasion as the Live peaked at over 17,000 viewers with tons of big names showing their appreciation for the event such as Drake, Kevin Durrant, Russ, Jessie Reyez, and two of the most legendary producers in the world Timbaland and Swizz Beatz.

When it was all said and done Boi-1da and Hitboy showed nothing but love for one another, expressing their appreciation for each others talents and how far they have come as producers. Without a doubt this event has not just brought back hip-hop’s old school competitive nature but also what really matters, the appreciation of music. We are very excited to see if/who will keep things running as many other producers such as Murda Beatz and T-Minus have stated they want next in such an event. What producers do you think should go head to head in a beat battle?
