Over the last few years, Mississauga’s Geneva has made a name for herself with a string of successful singles. She’s earned over 100,000 streams across platforms and is still just beginning her career.
After moving to Canada from the Philippines with her family in 2001, a young Geneva was showcasing her talent as a vocalist and performer at local talent shows. In recent years, she’s gained even more support locally and nationally. She’s been covered by several blogs and radio stations, and was even supported by the CBC.
In this new chapter of her career, Geneva and her team are elevating things across the board. Her brand new single features some of her most passionate writing, and it is also accompanied by an incredible music video.
The song starts with a brief intro, but Geneva’s vocals and presence are felt almost immediately after. The song was produced by Hillside Vision & KynRose, who gave her the perfect backdrop, to not only write, but to perform.
On the single, she writes about the difficulties of realizing that she is only being loved when convenient. She honestly expresses the feelings of accepting that love, with the intention that one day, the love will still be reciprocated – when they’re “sober.”
Geneva stars in the music video as a disgruntled lover, unsure of her feelings. The video cuts back and forth between lonely mornings and the fun nights she shares with her co-star LD Banko. The video was directed by Seth Garraway and includes incredibly shot scenes, with strong pacing and editing.
A list of all the people involved can be viewed in the music video’s description.
